What to do if you're alone
If you're stuck being single on Vday, don't despair, do a ladies/guys night out and try and find someone to celebrate with next year!

Valentine's Day has also been called "Single Awareness Day". I think there has a been a movement for people to go out in large groups instead of one-on-one dates.

I went on a group dates with a bunch of single folks last year that was ok. The night didn't end up in a heated passion or a dating relationship but it was better than sitting home alone. Personally, I wish I could just be home on Valentine's Day if I want without having to feel bad about not being in a relationship. This year I have decided that I am not going to let it bother me and get over the fact I might be single on Valentine's Day. It won't be a big deal because its on Tuesday.

 heh
I'm not single but sometimes I feel I may as well be. I know, that sounds sad.
It sucks, I feel lonely all the time but around V-day you get reminded especially with all the candy and crud out there.
See, you don't have to be single. lol
Ok, I vote go to sleep early and sleep through it. haha
I would say catch a movie with a single friend but then you would be out and see couples... you could rent a movie and have some single friends come over and watch it. That might work.

 Meh...
In my experience with this holiday, I refuse to go out on Valentine's Day. It's not the fact that I'm lonely or any of that bullcrap, it's the fact that I end up having a REALLY bad day.
I say, if you have the same problem as I do with having the bad karma coming to you on that day to just stay home and sleep it off or spend it with family. I'd rather show my affection for my family than anyone else. But still, myself, I prefer to be left alone and not be reminded of such a day.

Cassie,
Is it that you feel single just on Valentine's day or the other days of the year when it comes to your mate? If you do, then maybe you should re-think VDay and your mate. Don't get me wrong, I know this is probably a comment that you hadn't asked for but if your significant other is sweet and kind and giving and loves you every other day of the year then why the hell are you worrying about Valentine's day.
I would commend your mate for not doing something for you because the day tells them to. I would say that that person is a true romantic and thinks outside of the box and is probably a keeper. Now, if this person never does anything for you and doesnt show you any love then it shouldnt just take Vday to point that out to you, and you need to wake up.
So, dont hide behind BlockBuster because you dont want to see other couples. You should pity them if your mate has decided to cherish you 364 days per year, because as the day does not tell us. All of those women you see getting flowers, candy, teddy bears and useless sweet nothings probably aint getting nothing the other 364 days of the year.
So, if you already dont, you should strive to have a mate who celebrates you 365 days of the year, not just February 14th because the day tells them to.

I say Valday shouldn't be given so much importance ...I mean it's just a day like any other day! ... so if we don't suffer that much from being single on the other 364 days Why should we suddenly be depressed about it just because it's Valentine's Day? though it is true thta when you're single and you see all these shops with Valday stuff and big red hearts and all it is kind of depressing...but to me it's depressing anyway...not just if you're single lol....
Valentine's day sucks and that's all...
I ,personnally, will go to the pub with other single mates and we'll just try to have a nice evening and enjoy ourselves... no matter what day it is!
so i say
Have fun
"sit and relax...indulge yourself..."
lol
"happy" valentine's day to all of you!!

Personally I think for a guy, going to a stripper bar would be a great way to spend V-day. Think about it, not only are you doing something instead of staying at home, but you're mocking the entire spirit of V-day by being in a place that can be accused of harboring many emotions but never love. I'm all for having fun while giving V-day the bird, it's like killing two of 'em (birds) with one stone.
