Anyone know any v-day suicide statistics for Valentine's Day?

V-day doesn't make me (or anyone I know, that I know of) as sad and lonely feeling as the winter holiday time (Christmas, etc.)... which, now that I think about it, seems weird.

I would love to see a poll about who really enjoys Valentine's Day in the general US population and how many people can recall a BAD valentine's day. It is probably one of the only holidays that people have a high probability of having a BAD day,

I was recently making some research on festivals and their connection to suicide. Didn't find the number for how many people commit suicide on Valentines day, but here are some quite interesting statistics.
One in ten people aged under 25 feel depressed and undwanted on this day.
Over two-fifths of single people feel negative or indifferend towards Vday.
Four times as many men as women feel pressurised by their partner into giving a card or gift on Valentine's day.
And last but not least - every day two people under 25 commit suicide. The research also claims that these number increases dramatically during summer holidays and on Valentine's day. No concrete numbers were given.
If one festival only brings about sadness and despair and increased numbers of suicide then there must be something wrong. I hate this festival as well...
Take care,
Katie

--One in ten! That's only 10%. What are the chances that 10% feels like that every other day of the year?

I really don't think it is the fault of VD that people feel suicidal. If someone wants to commit suicide, they probably have a reason other than a day out of the year to do so. Sure, suicide rates go up on this day, but that just means that this is a day when the emotions and feelings that cause someone to want to kill themselves become strongest. VD is merely a day that people choose because of it's signifigance. Just like Christmas, as was mentioned earlier, and Thanksgiving, and even Haloween.

Nothing is worth suicide though. I don't know a suicide rate for this day...
