I can't stand going anywhere the day after Christmas to see stores' shelves being emptied of ornaments and wrapping paper then restocked with this freakin' day's materialism.  And statistics show more cheating occurs on this day so Whitmans and stuffed toy manufacturers merely pander to the freakin liars of the world.

I don't know who you are but YOU ARE MY SOULMATE! I know exactly how you feel buddy. I will never understand how people can just do something so STUPID! I hate VD-Day! And yes, I do call it by it's true meaning: Vinerial Disease Day! The world is full of fools who think they can just buy a little stuffed animal & card & some lingere and we all know it's for self gain! Love should not even be listed with the word Valentine or Valentine's Day anywhere in the world, cause we all know that love has nothing to do with it!

I agree with you - but it's not a reason to ditch Valentine's Day altogether.  There are plenty of romantic things you can do that cost very little. Why give the companies the satisfaction - do something romantic and free.  I put a lot of ideas together about this on 14february.info (sorry, can't link to it properly as I haven't made 5 posts yet!)

no real need for spending money. more so if you are all alone
